Veterinary Referral
All dogs must have a veterinary referral before we can commence swimming.
A Referral Form along with a copy of our Terms and Conditions can be downloaded by clicking on the link below, this should be completed, signed and passed to your referring Vet or Orthopaedic Surgeon for their completion and signature prior to them sending the form to ourselves.
Once received, we will request full case history notes from your vet.
Opening Hours
We offer flexible opening hours 6 days per week to ensure that we cater for all lifestyles, we are closed Sundays and Bank Holidays.
Pricing
All sessions are charged at £25.00.
Unfortunately we do not accept Credit or Debit cards.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance schemes cover Hydrotherapy and as a member of the Canine Hydrotherapy Association, treatment at York Canine Hydro should be covered, but please check with your insurance provider first.
First Appointment
This will take up to one hour, during which time we will carry out a complete head to tail health check on your dog, discuss the condition requiring treatment to ensure that you have a full understanding and to familiarise your dog with the surroundings and equipment prior to his or her first swim.
Your dogs first swim will be short, with times being progressively built up over successive swims subject to the needs and capabilities of the dog and subject to the condition being treated.
The maximum time we swim any dog for is 20 minutes in any session, remember, a 1 minute swim is the equivalent to a 1 mile run.
Vaccinations
In order to ensure that hygiene standards are maintained we do require all dogs to have current full vaccinations.
Professional Staff
There is always a trained Animal First Aider and a trained Canine Hydrotherapist in attendance at any session.
24 Hour Emergency Vet
We have links to a local Veterinary practice that provides 24 hour emergency cover.
Car Parking
We have a good tarmac car park immediately in front of the centre. Please ensure that you are a responsible dog owner and clean up any mess into the bin provided.
